I know this feeling very well. I've never been one of The Beautiful People. I'm an outcast. In the United States, I don't encounter much racism, because I'm white. But, I'm White Trash. I'm also one of THEM. You know, the crazies, the sickos, the mentally ill.
I'm one of THEM, but you probably wouldn't know it. I'm not likely to make the news, unless its the obituaries because my disease finally won. I won't make the news for shooting up a movie theatre like a selfish fucking jackass, or shooting up people from a clock tower like a stupid fucking sociopath with no consciense, or for committing serial murders like a twisted fucking shithead.
I, like the majority of people with mental illness, am no more dangerous than the average person. I am in fact more likely to be a victim than to be a predator.
Physically, I'm in my mid forties. Emotionally, I'm not an adult. I can hold a job, but the conditions have to be right or I'll sink into a severe depressive state. I'm a "loser" with a menial job, because that's what I can handle. I have a fairly high I.Q., but I'll never be able to excel in the usual ways.
Love, romance, and sex are difficult areas for me to navigate, so I choose to avoid them. I tend to attract predators who don't give a shit if they hurt me as long as they get some pussy, and broken people who might not mean to hurt me but they will. People like drug addicts. If I'm attracted to a guy, it means he's just wrong, so it's better if I stay away.
The character John Coffey is a truly beautiful person, not a glamorous person. I think that Michael Clarke Duncan seemed like a beautiful person too in his way. I liked him. Shine on, Big Man!

Hercules decides that being immortal is not all its cracked up to be. As mortals, I think that most of us have pondered what it would be like to be immortal. At this point in my life, I don't fear death. Having lived with crippling depression, I've often wished that I wouldn't wake up when I go to sleep. More than once I've looked to the Heavens and said "let me up, I've had enough."

I can't read Japanese, so I don't know what the name of this song is. But the sound and the video are both really cool.
This video is fascinating, but I have a problem with it from the beginning. Their "tornado on the sun" is a solar flare. It's the sun. It makes flares. It does all sorts of scary shit on a daily basis.
We live in a precarious position. Daily, objects burn up in our atmosphere. Sometimes they don't burn up. Depending upon the size of the object, this could make for real trouble.
There may be certain cosmic changes going on. (Here I speak of the physical cosmos.) I think that these will have very little impact on day to day life on Earth. Regardless of whether they do or not, there's nothing we can do to prevent them.
I'm actually quite an open-minded person when it comes to the esoteric. I believe that there is something which survives physical death. I believe in the possibility of what could best be described as higher vibration energy beings, which could be dubbed "angels," "demons," or "deities."
Our world will end someday. But I really don't believe it will happen due to a doomsday scenario of the nature being described by those who believe in the 2012 prophecy.
I'm pretty sure I'll get up on December 22, 2012 and do the same kinds of things that I was doing on December 20, 2012 without much change involved.
I'm not trying to belittle anyone's beliefs. I hate people who do that. There may indeed be something that's happening at a higher level. That I don't know for sure. I'm willing to keep an open mind about it.
I just want people to stop worrying about December 21, 2012.

LIke Faycin, I don't believe that the world will end in 2012. I am open to the possibility that there may be certain changes on a cosmic level, but I'm not exactly sure what they will be. If such changes are coming, there's nothing I can do to stop them from coming. Might as well just observe what transpires with a scientific mind.

Last month, I ended up making the disappointing discovery that one of my longtime heroes was not at all worthy of the title. I really don't like slamming people, and I'm still dismayed by what I found out about that person. I much prefer to talk about the times when I can say "this person really is cool."
That is certainly the case with Mark Evans, who was the bassist on two of AC/DC's early albums. That Mark should not have been included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction is unconscionable. I like and respect Angus and Malcolm Young, but for them to continue to bear a grudge against Mark after all these years for what amount to misunderstandings and youthful slips of the tongue, while drunk nonetheless, is ridiculous.
Mark is the real deal. He is a genuine, honest person with no huge, puffed-up ego. He's been through hell and back. He lost his eldest daughter in a terrible accident. She was killed by a truck while standing on a street corner in Amsterdam, making a call to her employer to let them know she'd be a little late to work.

It's a much better feeling to be able to say "see, I knew this person was the real thing!" than to have to say "damn, I really got fooled with that one." Thanks, Mark, for being one of the best. Rock on!

Imprint is that rare thriller which manages to have a powerful impact without being overly gory. There is no gratuitous violence, no nudity, and even the harsh language is minimal. The protagonist is a strong yet flawed young Lakota lawyer who becomes a pariah when she prosecutes and gets a conviction against a boy from her own tribe. When she returns home to visit her sick father for his birthday, she begins experiencing frightening visions.
It is wonderful to find a story where the strength lies in the tale itself: not in the special effects, not in the shock value, and, thankfully, not in exploiting the female characters. The filmmakers had integrity and a vision, and it shows.
A profoundly simple concept, yet illustrating a truth that many seem unaware of.

The crazy thing is, as I was driving this morning I was thinking how forgiving people who are in upside down mortgages or high interest mortgages their debt might very well boost the economy. I'm no economist but I know so many people who are really struggling. I don't currently have a mortgage but a lot of my friends and family are in a tight spot. This might well be one way to stimulate the economy. It's something to think about.

Just like the Dancing Queen of song, I'm not picky about who I dance with. Dancing is only occasionally a vertical expression of a horizontal desire. In my case, it's usually an expression of a desire to have some completely non-horizontal fun that isn't even romantic. I'll dance with men or women, I'll dance with people who are related to me. I'm straight and don't have any incestuous desires. So don't believe every saying you hear to be 100% true for everyone.

On the eve of 9/11, and in this election year, it is vital not to become complacent about how important our right to vote is. These people faced danger in making the decision to vote, and polling places had to be protected by armed guards. They stood behind their decision and exercised the right to vote.
We must guard our right to vote in whatever country we may live in. We must never allow extremists to take that right away from us. If you are in the United States, as I am, take a moment to reflect on the privilege we have. Let us never allow this privilege to be perverted by those with extreme agendas.
There are no comments on this video, and so far I'm the only one that has "liked" it. This is a sad commentary on our society. People like Professor Tobias are the ones whose lives should be honored and celebrated. Instead we, as a collective, spend our time adulating attention seekers whose claims to fame are such things as releasing tapes of themselves involved in sexual activity, or boozing and drugging themselves into near coma.
I watched the 2011 film "Cyberbully" this morning. The movie had a happy ending, which often real life bullying situations do not.
I had a hard time getting through this one. I don't know if I would have survived if there had been this additional avenue of bullying when I was a teen. As it was, I was bullied. One guy from another school, whom I had gone on a date with once, spread a rumor that he got me pregnant and I had an abortion. I was only 15. I was still a virgin. I remember him trying to grope me and me saying no. He didn't even get in my pants, let alone get me pregnant. But the rumors that I was a "slut" persisted.
I was a big girl (who turned into a big woman.) At five foot seven, I weighed 180 pounds in a world where any female who weighs over 120 is considered "fat." I had broad shoulders, moderately large breasts, a big butt, and chunky thighs. I didn't have the kind of big breasts that push straight out in front, I had the kind that spread to the side. If I wore a pushup bra, I'd have had cleavage up to my chin. I was modest, however, and tended to wear baggy shirts to hide my breasts. It didn't help much.
I had friends among the stoner crowd. The popular kids picked on me for my less than fashionable attire. My family wasn't rich. I couldn't believe how shallow these morons were, but it hurt anyway.
When I tried to kill myself, I did not get support from my mother. As I lay there in the E.R. with my wrists bandaged, she railed at me about how stupid I was for doing something like that and told me to stop looking for attention. The counselor at school gave me no help when I told her what was going on with me. She basically told me I needed to toughen up.
I guess I was a lot smarter than I thought I was at the time, because I got through high school with mostly B's even though I was constantly ditching school.
While watching Cyberbully, there were times that I started breathing hard and my chest started to feel tight. I thought I was going to have a panic attack and felt like I might have to stop watching. I'm 45 years old, and all those feelings from those awful years came flooding back to me. In a way it felt like being raped (another thing that I have experienced) only on a psychological level. I remember feeling like trash, like I was worthless, like I deserved what happened to me.
To this day, I still have a lot of trouble believing in myself or my abilities. I still see myself as unattractive. I don't know if any of this will ever change.
I know that the filmmakers were trying to impart the message that violence does not solve anything, but the part of the movie where Lindsay the Bitch Queen and her Chief Bitch Crew are in the bathroom and Taylor (the bullying victim) comes in and they berate her for crying? I would have started swinging my shoulder bag at those cunts. None would have gotten away unscathed. I would have been suspended for school and I would suddenly have been the villain. But that is the way it would have gone down.
Bullying kills. Bullying also hurts many years after the fact. Bullying destroys lives. Isn't it time to put an end to this social evil?
Captain Sullenberger's cool head surely played a big part in bringing the plane down in the best situation possible given the circumstances.

Dr. Daria Morgendorffer say's these Zeena Morf's aren't like the old Zeena Morf's. They just lay their egg's and the egg's hatch like a chicken egg insted of the creature having to grow inside a person. I don't no about any of that but it still sound's gross to me!

I have noticed that there is a huge difference between being with a man I can trust and being with my former partner, whom I couldn't trust at all. Dylan is always on my mind, in my heart, and in my soul. But I don't have to hold his image in my conscious mind constantly for fear that he might be gone if I don't visualize him all the time.
I don't wonder "does Dylan have some other guy over while I'm gone during the day?" I trust him and he trusts me. We aren't going to play games on each other. I had eight years of game playing, eight years of obsessing and pain, eight years of wondering, is Kent going to find someone better than me?
I knew he was looking for a piece of action on the side. I tried to pretend I was okay with that, but really I wasn't. He told me to "evolve," to not be a jealous bitch. I would have done anything to keep him. I did do anything--I compromised who I was and what I needed and wanted.
Finally, I was the one that told him to leave, even though it felt like someone had run a sword right through my heart. I cried on and off for eight straight hours after that. Sometimes it was just sniffling and soft, other times the tears gushed from me like a fountain. I did not date again for five years.
It's so different being with someone who has his shit together and knows what he wants. When Dylan says he's working, I know he's working. When he's spending time with his brother, I know he's actually with his brother, not off cruising bars for a piece.
It's very true that you should never make someone your priority if you are only one of their options. I was the option that Kent figured he could come home to and I'd always be there waiting like a needy little boy. Don't let anyone do that to you.
With Dylan, I'm his foundation and he is mine. We can always depend on each other. We don't have to obsess on each other, because we have trust that's real.
Real love enhances happiness. Anything else is a lie. I lied to myself for eight years. Don't let lies destroy your chance at improving your life or prevent you from finding someone truly deserving of your love.

I'm helping my good friend Rose LeMort with some research. She has a forthcoming book featuring two undead princes from a fictional kingdom near Moldavia and Wallachia. She wants to do further research for her next book, and I'm helping find useful information for her and entertaining myself in the process.
I can't help it. It always comes back to Front 242 for great Euro-Electronica.
I really like the instrumentals (i.e. fiddle and sax). The vocals are a little too generic pop for me.
I really try to avoid mean spirited humor. But sometimes someone disappoints you (or horrifies you) so much that something's gotta give. Parts of this post are really mean and kinda juvenile. So if you'd prefer to avoid that, ya know where to find the exit!

Not only would I kick that out of my bed if I found it in there, I'd probably call the exterminator!
