Happy 60th Birthday Angus Young

Awesome then

Awesome now

Team Netherworld wishes a very happy birthday to one of our favorite people, the awesome Angus Young. He's still just as kooky as ever, and still a nice guy who never let the whole "rock star" thing go to his head.
We hope Angus senses the big warm hug we're all sending to him, and it makes him smile!
We're featuring the videos from Fly on the Wall, an album which got panned by humorless prats with a stick up their ass. The very kind of people that Angus is the antithesis to, and that's why we love him!

My own playlist that I made with the songs from the Fly on the Wall video set. I always loved this fun little story line!

Aww Monday: Dear Malcolm

So, on Awwww Mondays, people usually post pictures of cute kittens and puppies and such.
Cute guy with pretty smile is not a kitten or puppy. He does have nice hair. We might want to pet it, but he wasn't anybody's pet. He was an independent thinker, highly intelligent and very creative. So, why are we posting his picture?
He makes us say "awww," but he also makes us cry.
Not because of anything he did. It isn't his fault. He was a nice guy. He didn't like hurting people.
Sure, like anyone else, sometimes he hurt people. But he tried not to.
He makes us cry because he's dying from a really terrible disease. This disease has robbed him of everything. It doesn't even allow him the favor of knowing that people love him. It doesn't even let him remember all the things he created during his very remarkable life.
It would make us sad if he was dying from cancer, but this disease adds insult to injury.
We're posting this picture because we want people to remember him. Not just because he was nice to look at, but because his heart and soul were so very good.
We think you're beautiful in all the ways that really matter, Malcolm. And we're so sorry. We already miss you very much, Baby.

Love and many tears,
DJ Opal

Monday's Music Moves My Broken Heart: AC/DC: TNT Live 1981

We love you so much, Malcolm Young, forever; and my damn broken heart feels like it's gonna fall out on the floor.

Love Always,

This week’s theme our spotlight dancer, Joyce Lansky wants ..
It’s called the Brevity Challenge.
#1 Write ONE sentence or less on your post.
#2 Post ONE song that is under three minutes.
#3 Visit and post a SHORT comment on EVERY blog that follows the rules.

So the video is more like three and a half minutes and I totally don't care. In fact, just kill me or something. I already feel like my heart's been crushed to a pulp. Fact is, the only reason I'm participating in the blog hop is to make people aware of this horrible disease and that people who have it are still people deserving of kindness and respectful treatment; cause I sure don't feel particularly social right now.

Six Word Saturday: Words We Can't Say Enough

We love you always, Malcolm Young

Like anyone who allows themselves to age naturally, Malcolm's face became wizened by time. He was a tiny person. However, he never looked frail until recently, and he always looked alert, as if he was taking everything in and processing it, figuring out what came next at all times. In recent photos, that look was gone, as if he was struggling just to get along. It's heartbreaking.
Dementia sucks. It sucks. And then it sucks some more. It robs its victims of their minds, of the light in their eyes, of their ability to recognize even those they loved the most. It robs those who love the sufferer of his or her ability to give the gift of themselves.
Fuck you, dementia in all its forms. Just fuck you.
I wish I had something more intelligent to say. Unfortunately, that is how helpless such a condition leaves everyone it touches.

Tired Of

Posted by The Anonymous Art of Revolution on Facebook.

I know this feeling very well. I've never been one of The Beautiful People. I'm an outcast. In the United States, I don't encounter much racism, because I'm white. But, I'm White Trash. I'm also one of THEM. You know, the crazies, the sickos, the mentally ill.

I'm one of THEM, but you probably wouldn't know it. I'm not likely to make the news, unless its the obituaries because my disease finally won. I won't make the news for shooting up a movie theatre like a selfish fucking jackass, or shooting up people from a clock tower like a stupid fucking sociopath with no consciense, or for committing serial murders like a twisted fucking shithead.

I, like the majority of people with mental illness, am no more dangerous than the average person. I am in fact more likely to be a victim than to be a predator.

Physically, I'm in my mid forties. Emotionally, I'm not an adult. I can hold a job, but the conditions have to be right or I'll sink into a severe depressive state. I'm a "loser" with a menial job, because that's what I can handle. I have a fairly high I.Q., but I'll never be able to excel in the usual ways.

Love, romance, and sex are difficult areas for me to navigate, so I choose to avoid them. I tend to attract predators who don't give a shit if they hurt me as long as they get some pussy, and broken people who might not mean to hurt me but they will. People like drug addicts. If I'm attracted to a guy, it means he's just wrong, so it's better if I stay away.

The character John Coffey is a truly beautiful person, not a glamorous person. I think that Michael Clarke Duncan seemed like a beautiful person too in his way. I liked him. Shine on, Big Man!

Love,

Illsa

And Now For Something That Rocks (And Plays the Blues): Mark Evans

Last month, I ended up making the disappointing discovery that one of my longtime heroes was not at all worthy of the title. I really don't like slamming people, and I'm still dismayed by what I found out about that person. I much prefer to talk about the times when I can say "this person really is cool."

That is certainly the case with Mark Evans, who was the bassist on two of AC/DC's early albums. That Mark should not have been included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction is unconscionable. I like and respect Angus and Malcolm Young, but for them to continue to bear a grudge against Mark after all these years for what amount to misunderstandings and youthful slips of the tongue, while drunk nonetheless, is ridiculous.

Mark is the real deal. He is a genuine, honest person with no huge, puffed-up ego. He's been through hell and back. He lost his eldest daughter in a terrible accident. She was killed by a truck while standing on a street corner in Amsterdam, making a call to her employer to let them know she'd be a little late to work.

Mark has written an autobiography. You can find out more on the Facebook page. Also, check out his site, Mark Evans Blues.

It's a much better feeling to be able to say "see, I knew this person was the real thing!" than to have to say "damn, I really got fooled with that one." Thanks, Mark, for being one of the best. Rock on!

R.E.M. Playlist

Here's an R.E.M. playlist to make me happy. It will make you happy too, if you like R.E.M. If you don't, then listen to something else.

I swear, if one more person acts like Michael Stipe's sexuality is a big deal, I'm gonna have to start swinging. Would my being straight make the news? No? And it shouldn't. That's really lame news. One day nobody will care if other people are straight, gay, or bi. That's how it should be.

Fuck Yeah, Angus Young!

Amazing musician, amazing drawing. No, I did not draw it, Dahlings. I wish I could say I did. It was shared by Juice Box Weirdo on Facebook.

Still on the Fritz

Dahlings, the damn sound is still not working on this computer! My co-worker, Sandy Cheeks, tried to catch the I.T. guy before he went home, but she wasn't able to. Commendable effort anyway, Sandy.

I guess we'll be without sound all weekend. The KHEL 666 Facebook page is still getting videos from myself and others at other times, but things are suffering on the night shift right now!

Some People Hit the Jackpot

Well, I certainly didn't find the freaking pot of gold when it comes to romance, but Angus and Ellen Young certainly did. They've been married 32 years. Now that's something to be proud of, especially since divorce rates in the entertainment world are so high.

Maybe in my next life I'll find my "Angus," so to speak. I wonder what it feels like to hit the jackpot in love. I'll never know in this life, I reckon.

Little AC/DC Fan

Some people were all up in arms about this. I say it's harmless and cute as all get out!
They're just having fun. The kid will remember it fondly when she's older. Some of y'all need to calm down. My son was listening to AC/DC when he was in the womb! He still loves them, and he's in his twenties now. He's grown up to be a very responsible person, a pharmacy technician and a pre-med student. A little AC/DC ain't gonna hurt anybody!

Born Gay? It's Okay! Thanks, Anderson Cooper!

Born gay, follow the ray. Born straight, refuse to hate. Gay is not a perversion, it is a sexual preference which is perfectly normal. Straight is okay, bi is okay, gay is okay, we're all okay!

Love you all, Tempest

Andy Griffith

Bless your heart, dear Andy. The classic comedian and actor has passed away today at 86 years old. Andy and my late father could have been brothers. They had very similar faces.

Chris Isaak: The Real Deal

Aside from his amazing talent, this is why I love Chris Isaak, Dahlings! He is a wonderful person who is real and genuine.
