Netherworld Cinema: Why Didn't They Ask Evans?

I'm not going to say anything about the plot and thereby risk giving anything away. I'm only going to strongly recommend that you drop whatever you're doing and watch the absolutely delightful 1980 London Weekend Television production of Agatha Christie's Why Didn't They Ask Evans at once. 

This masterpiece provides ample proof that there is no need for over the top blood and gore or exploitative sex scenes to create captivating entertainment; in fact, such things only serve to detract from the tale. When you have a good story, well-acted, that's entertainment at it's finest. This production certainly fills the bill!

Monday Morning Minecraft Playthrough + Song

By the time I got to eat my breakfast burrito, it was cold. Cold eggs...mmm. Didn't rewarm it because it contained items such as salsa, avocado and cream cheese, not really the best when reheated.

Still trying to get rid of this crappy cough I've had for the past week. Nasty rattling hack. Not my idea of a good time. I'm taking extra b vitamins and vitamin C, washing it down with V8. In the past I'd have chosen orange juice, but I have insulin resistance so fruit juices are pretty much a thing of the past.

Humor Fail: The Hidden Meanings of Toasters

This bit started out humorous and quickly turned shallow.

Trite commentary about hoping the new bride consumes too many carbs and gets fat, because there's nothing worse in this world than being a human being who has a bit more adipose tissue, amirite?

Also, the idea of maintaining a friendship with one's ex really shouldn't be all that surprising. Many people, in fact, do. 

I managed to become friends with my ex in spite of a very troubled past. We have three kids together. Better for the kids that we weren't at each other's throats. Yes, he caused me a lot of pain and heartache, but he's tried to be a good father to his children. He's managed to stay clean of his drug addiction for twelve years now. What good would it do me to be a catty bitch to him? 

Not saying that Vanessa Paradis was or wasn't being a catty bitch to Johnny Depp. Her reasons for choosing the gift she did for the happy couple are her own.

Faycin's Gaming: The Last Of Us Left Behind

This incredible game has it all. Action, adventure, and a real story with characters worth caring about. Proof that female characters can be something besides window dressing/eye candy or trophies to be one by the male hero. The characters are realistic looking. The young teenage girls who are the main protagonists are tough and resilient, but that doesn't stop them from also being emotional.

The story also briefly touches upon the possible romance between Ellie and Riley. This word may be overused, but I think it was brave of the game's creators to have a homosexual rather than heterosexual romantic pairing, and to show an actual lesbian romance with real human feelings rather than exploiting lesbian love for the purpose of titillating heterosexual male gamers.

Games like The Last Of Us Left Behind will change the face of gaming and have the possibility of creating real social change too. I truly hope to see more such games being released in the future.
