Netherworld Cinema: Fertile Ground 2011 [Full-Movie]

Rated R for nudity, violence and profanity. The nudity isn't particularly obtrusive and the pseudo-sex is pretty toned down, although predictable.
The cast puts in good performances. The plot is predictable. The special effects are cheesy overall, although the miscarriage scene is striking and disturbing.
Overall rating 2.5 out of 5 stars. I've certainly seen worse, but I've definitely seen better.

Tough Shop Owner Takes On Armed Robber

This shop owner is one brave guy! My hat's off to him. Personally, I wouldn't have dared to fight back against an assailant armed with a gun. I hope they catch the creep.

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: Z is for Zoom

As we speed off into the sunset, I leave you with this video featuring some really cool cars and safe drag racing on a closed track. I don't know about anyone else, but I love this sort of thing. I also enjoy demolition derbies. At my age, I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm kind of a hick.

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: Video Games: M is for Minecraft

If I had time to play an online game, I would play Minecraft.
My son plays Minecraft. I like the idea behind the game, because even though there is combat against zombies and other monsters, the main idea of the game is creation rather than destruction.
Minecraft was originally created by Swedish game designer Markus "Notch" Persson. The P.C. version was released in 2009.
Minecraft is a fairly inexpensive game. At the time of this writing, a one-time download is $30. The classic version is available online for free. There are no creatures to fight in the classic version, it is the original building game.

Faycin's Gaming: The Last Of Us Left Behind

This incredible game has it all. Action, adventure, and a real story with characters worth caring about. Proof that female characters can be something besides window dressing/eye candy or trophies to be one by the male hero. The characters are realistic looking. The young teenage girls who are the main protagonists are tough and resilient, but that doesn't stop them from also being emotional.
The story also briefly touches upon the possible romance between Ellie and Riley. This word may be overused, but I think it was brave of the game's creators to have a homosexual rather than heterosexual romantic pairing, and to show an actual lesbian romance with real human feelings rather than exploiting lesbian love for the purpose of titillating heterosexual male gamers.
Games like The Last Of Us Left Behind will change the face of gaming and have the possibility of creating real social change too. I truly hope to see more such games being released in the future.

Faycin's Films: Fathers and Daughters

When he's not Fightin' Round the World, Russell Crowe is making movies. He's actually one of my preferred performers, and this looks like a wonderful drama. addressing important subjects such as mental illness. I look forward to seeing this one!

The Last of Us Left Behind: Skeleseer Fortunes

Just discovered this. It's actually from a video game. This bit is very funny. The story itself is dark overall. You can read about it on Wikipedia if you like.

DJ Faycin the Gospel-Loving Agnostic

I was a devout church-goer in my youth. The only thing I'm devout about at this point is being tolerant. I'm sort of a Buddhist, I suppose, but I don't get to the temple very often.
In any case, I took piano lessons in my youth, and I always loved playing Gospel. The above recording isn't the best quality, but the Rev. B.J. Fears' soulful voice shines through. It's a shame that it's somewhat difficult to find his recordings. He could rival the best soul singers.

Rev. B.J. was a nice man. I'm not sure when he passed away. I think if there is a heaven, he's surely in the choir. In any case, his kind spirit touched the world, and I like to believe that there must be some sort of reward for good behavior! What it is I can't say, I can only offer my own theories. But this isn't the blog for that sort of thing. This is the blog for great music, and Rev. B.J. was a great musician.

Dva Damas: Nightshade

This tune has a serious old school cool vibe. I could do with a lot more of this! A great find, highly recommended. American musical innovation with a Euro-cool feel.

Blog and Channel Recommendation

If you're like me, you enjoy things that are a little off the beaten path. You may also enjoy the Film Festivals and Indie Films channel on You Tube, and the Indie Statik blog, which is where I stole borrowed the image above from
Let's face it, when you're short on money and time, you need opinions you can trust to help guide you in the right direction. These look to be two good resources to help you pick your poison. I know that I'm keeping them in my bookmarks for future reference!

Horror Movie Themes on Piano

I hate this person! I wish I could play the piano anywhere near this well!
Before anyone goes and gets all bent out of shape, of course I don't actually hate her. But I do wish I could play the piano that well.
