A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: Z is for Zoom

As we speed off into the sunset, I leave you with this video featuring some really cool cars and safe drag racing on a closed track. I don't know about anyone else, but I love this sort of thing. I also enjoy demolition derbies. At my age, I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm kind of a hick.

Customizing Headlights for Your Muscle Car

An *ahem* ENLIGHTENING video for those of you who are adept at customizing your classic muscle car.
(Ducks rotten fruit being thrown at head.)
I always wanted to own a muscle car. I thought they were so cool. My practical father (R.I.P.) would have none of it, though. I had a nice, non-descript second-hand Audi, which Dad got for $500 from a handyman friend of his. I have to admit, that car was well built. I kept it for another 8 years after graduating high school, at which point it got traded in for a mini van, as by then I had three kids.
I still think back on those daydreams of youth. I wanted to take auto shop so I could work on my dream muscle car, but in those days, girls didn't take auto shop. (I graduated high school in 1982.) My father actually taught me a few basic things, like changing the oil, checking the fluid levels, filling the tires, and changing a tire. But auto shop was not a "thing" for girls.
Maybe once my brother and I are retired, we'll buy ourselves a couple of muscle cars and let the younger generation laugh at us and accuse us of having a mid-life crisis as we have fun working on them.

The Mobile Vlog and Mobile Homes

Come ride along with this guy. It's fun! At the end of the Vlog, he poses the question: Would you rather rent or own?

Here was my answer.

I enjoyed "riding" with you. I just want to warn everyone, do not every buy a mobile home. Do not ever buy a mobile home. And I repeat, do not ever buy a mobile home. I am stuck with this money pit and its 15% interest mortgage which I bought out of desperation in 2001. I was totally ignorant and it seemed like a good idea at the time. But now I have not only $650 a month mortgage but $550 a month lot rent. They raise that shit every year without fail. Bad deal, People!

At this point in time, I am also stuck needing to buy a new car because the clutch in my car that has 200,000 miles on it has gone south, and it isn't worth it to pay $2000 to fix it. I'm driving my late father's old truck right now. It's a good truck, but I really need a vehicle of my own, because this is the auxiliary vehicle that I share with my mother.

So...yeah.

Lest you wonder why I never have any money.

The Psycho has Moved

Those who know some of my writing sisters may have already heard this story. The KHEL 666 gang has made a mass exodus to Posterous, because ping.fm, which we used for years, no longer supports Blogger. We like our KHEL 666 blog, and weren't about to give it up! It would have been too much of a pain to post our shares to Ping, AND to Facebook, AND to Blogger. We needed a solution.

Fortunately, the brilliant H.P. Liebekraft discovered Posterous! And now, here we are!

I'll no longer be updating the Blooming Psycho's Funhouse blog on Blogger, in case anyone actually read that.

We'll see how this goes, but so far it looks pretty cool!
