What if Elvis Returned in the 21st Century?

This is a nice presentation, very visually striking.

However, note that their 77 year old Elvis looks like a 40 year old with prematurely gray hair.

Elvis was not a healthy man at the time of his death. I am not referring to his size, which is what people automatically focus on. There are plenty of large people who are perfectly healthy. He was on a myriad of medications, which I believe ultimately contributed to his untimely demise. They probably also contributed to his size.

Obesity is a multi-factoral issue, and we need to stop focusing on "calories in calories out" as the be all and end all. A person's size is primarily determined by genetics. Type and amount of food eaten do contribute to a degree, but not as much as might be imagined. Factors such as medications, environmental toxins, and food additives must also be considered.

In any case, I enjoyed this little movie, but if Elvis were to have made it to 77, even if he had been able to turn his health around, he would not look this youthful.

Sad But True Live 1992

Metallica is great live, and this is a pretty damn good video. I hope I don't mess it up for anyone by going on a little rant.

Maybe it's because I'm a father of daughters and I truly hope I taught my daughters to respect themselves and believe that they are worthy of respect. I know we all do silly stuff now and then, I hung plenty of moons in my time when I was younger. So maybe for some of the ladies who do it, flashing their boobs is just for a laugh. But somehow it doesn't seem that way.

I'm not saying that someone who flashes her boobs at a concert is "slutty" or anything like that, I don't know her character and neither can anyone else just based on this one action. I know this isn't the reaction most men have when seeing a woman flashing her goods, but when I see it, it sort of makes me sad that they think they have to do this. 

Perhaps some of them are trying to get backstage for a little fun, if this is their goal maybe that helps them accomplish it. But I imagine that's not really the case most of the time. I think many of them kind of feel like they have to, like it's expected.

Guys, a woman does not owe it to you to show you her breasts in a concert setting, and if she refuses, you don't have the right to call her names. Women, you don't owe it to anyone to flash your breasts. You came there to enjoy the music, you weren't hired as a stripper. If you don't want to do it, don't do it, and don't feel like you're a "prude" or "uncool" for refusing.

I once heard this exchange at a show, and I thought it was great.

Guy: "Show me your tits."

Woman: "Show me your dick."

He didn't. 

What's sauce for the goose and all.

Anyway, the sound quality is great on this video, and for some of you the fact that there is boob flashing may make you like it even better, although for others of you that may be a turn-off. For me it's neutral, other than the implications that women are always supposed to be on display.

It's Not. But it Can Be.

We don't express political opinions here too often, but your KHEL 666 Krew (all U.S. citizens) feel that this sums up our opinion very well.
Just my two cents. Instead of embarrassing ourselves with "reality" shows, why not have programs promoting the works of the actual common person, revealing the struggles of the actual common person? Instead of spectacle, why not celebrate the regular, hardworking person? Why not bring awareness and sympathy to the plights of people who live with various physical and mental illnesses, including the fact that the disability payments they get don't even cover the cost of housing, let alone food and medication?
Instead of ridiculing common looking people, particularly fat people, for not upholding the standard of so called beauty, why not teach respect for people of all races and sizes, all genders including intersexed and transgender? Why not celebrate one another's strengths and uphold one another in our areas of weakness?
There have been a lot of improvements in race politics, but racism still exists. There have been improvements in treatment of women on one hand, but on the other hand it has come to a point where women are so sexualized that no matter our personal accomplishments, if we don't fit the qualifications of "sexy" while doing whatever it is we do, we are seen as losers.
Our children are growing up with the message that to be successful, you have to act like a petulant two year old in order to get attention, and you have to appear to be ready for sex at all times. However, if you are a promiscuous woman, you're a slut. On the other hand, if you're a promiscuous man, go you. Being monogamous is "lame." If you happen to be fat, woe betide you for even existing in the first place.
Everything that was mentioned in the video is right on target. Plus, we need to stop outsourcing our employment and manufacturing to other countries.
This truly could be one of the greatest countries in the world, but all the "rah rah, USA" propaganda isn't going to make it that way. Only right and proper action which is concerned with the well-being of all citizens will make it that way. Only kindness rather than stigma will make it that way.

16 and Pregnant Is Not Something to Aspire To

I'm 46, and if I got pregnant now it would be one of those immaculate conceptions and I'd kill myself because I don't want to be pregnant! If I had gotten pregnant at 16, my parents would have killed me! I can't believe the things that are celebrated in this day and age. I would never advocate being unkind to a pregnant teenager, but it shouldn't be encouraged either.
