Remembering the Hudson River Miracle

Captain Sullenberger's cool head surely played a big part in bringing the plane down in the best situation possible given the circumstances.

Quick thinking saved the passengers and crew.

The rescuers insured that passengers and crew were brought to safety.

Here is the newscast, which helps to clarify.

Here is air traffic controller Patrick Harten. He is very professional, and also a kind-hearted person. The world could use more like him.

Here is Katie Couric's interview with Capt. Sullenberger. He is a true hero.

Here is the flight crew of 1549.

The passengers thank Capt. Sullenberger and the crew.

Why do I feel the need to share this? Because as Captain Sullenberger himself said at one point, people need hope. This incident provided hope. We are closing in on the eleven-year anniversary of 9/11, a tragic incident that none of us will forget. In my own way, I wanted to give people a reason to hope.

Best wishes,

Helena
