New Discoveries: Terry He
The featured song is a gentle, romantic number suitable for all listeners. The video tells a story, and the young women in the video are co-stars rather than objects to be ogled.
I hope that Terry has a long career ahead of him. With all the "shocking" and "outrageous" acts in pop music today, it's refreshing to find a musician whose focus is good songwriting with a positive outlook. Terry He gets two thumbs way up from me!

We Interrupt Your A to Z Reading With This Cringe-Worthy Pop Tart Fail
Holy cultural appropriation, Batman!
Girlfriend learned a few Japanese phrases, and now she "totally understands" the Japanese people.
I first found out about this travesty of a video here.
Maybe my friends and I were boring, but I never went to a slumber party where the idea of making out with each other would even have been suggested. I suppose it happens, but not as often as the lad mags would lead hopeful, horny fellows to believe. I think we did each other's hair at one slumber party. Usually we watched bad movies until we were told to go to bed by the hostess' mother, ate lots of popcorn, and talked about guys.
Sorry, Avril, but fail. Oddly enough, Japanese women aren't all cute Anime fembots. They have varied personalities and interests.
Also, those dancers look depressed to the point of root canal. I suppose I would too if I needed money so badly that I agreed to be in this video.

Natasha Bedingfield: Soul Mate
Incompatible, it don't matter though
'cos someone's bound to hear my cry
Speak out if you do
you're not easy to find
Is it possible Mr. Loveable
is already in my life?
right in front of me
or maybe you're in disguise
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
Here we are again, circles never end
how do I find the perfect fit
there's enough for everyone
but I'm still waiting in line
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
If there's a soulmate for everyone
Most relationships seem so transitory
They're all good but not the permanent one
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
Who doesn't long for someone to hold
who knows how to love you without being told
somebody tell me why I'm on my own
if there's a soulmate for everyone
If there's a soulmate for everyone

Dark Subject Matter in Mainstream Culture: Thoughts by Codera
Codera discusses why people seem to be accepting of dark subject matter in visual media but can't seem to accept it in music.
I'm lazy, so I'll cut and paste my reply!

To Adam Lambert, Riff Cherry, and my Son
A beautiful video featuring Adam and his little godson.
This video was made in honor of the birthdays of Adam and Riff.
Today is my son's birthday.
23 years ago today, I was in horrible agony.
It was worth it!
