KHEL 666 Anime: Featured Fan Video: Bleach: The Shigami Who Defied the Odds

Praise fan videos. Sometimes they're more evocative than the original piece of work which inspired them *cough*Supernatural*cough*.
Bleach is actually pretty good.

Review of Naruto #629

This young man does an excellent job with his review of this episode in the Naruto series.

Naruto is a Japanese manga, which was first published in 1997. It was later made into an anime, which ran from October 3, 2002 to February 8, 2007.

The folks from Monday's Music Moves Me reminded me that it's Labor Day in the U.S. I'm going to do something a little different and dedicate this Sad Songs collection from Naruto to my kindred spirits who labor on in a life with mental illness.
Every member of the KHEL 666 Krew lives with mental illness. I have type 2 bipolar disorder, and I know that what comes easily to normal people is often a struggle for those of us who are mentally ill. For us, staying alive can be a struggle, and not everyone wins the battle.
We've all heard the well-meaning advice. "Just cheer up. Just stop that stinkin' thinkin'. I know just how you feel."
The problem with the last one in particular is that if the person saying those words doesn't have a mood disorder, then they really don't know how it feels.Think about how you felt the last time something really bad happened to you. Sometimes we feel that way for what would seem to be no reason at all. It can become impossible to perform optimally when just getting out of bed is a struggle.
We've also heard things which are far less well-meaning. Lazy. Crazy. Stupid. Words like this certainly don't help. In fact, this kind of stigma causes people living with mental illness to remain ostracized and to be ashamed to seek help. In some cases, these words even kill.
It seems like many creative people struggle with mental illness. In fact, the same areas of the brain responsible for creativity are also heavily involved in conditions such as bipolar disorder, so there is a strong correlation. However, not all creative people are mentally ill, and not all mentally ill people are creative.
Creative pursuits can help people with mental illness cope with the difficulties they face. I wish I could say I was artistic, but I'm hard pressed even to draw stick figures. I like to write because it gives me an outlet for my emotions, and, for a time, takes me away from a life which has been very difficult in many ways.
Whatever your Labor in this life--whether you have a mental illness, a physical handicap, or are simply trying to keep on keeping on in this sometimes harsh world, I wish you well today and every day.

Peace,
DJ Helena

Pokemon Ash Gray Episode 1

This one is for my fellow Pokemon geeks. I have to admit to liking the newer stuff better as the games go, and I've never been too crazy about hacks. Still a fan of the original Pokemon cartoon though. Love the little guys!

A to Z Blogging Challenge: Y is for Yu-Gi-Oh

A to Z Blogging Challenge
Y is for Yu-Gi-Oh
by
Aurora Hylton

All of us here on the Undead Blogging Team like anime. One of our favorites is Yu-Gi-Oh. I will feature Yu-Gi-Oh, the movie.
Yu-Gi-Oh is geared towards a younger audience, but adults who enjoy anime generally like it as well. Not all anime is for kids.
Why do people enjoy anime? Like any other entertainment, it's a form of escapism. There are degrees of anime fandom. Someone like me enjoys it casually. Others might like trading media, or going to conventions.

Let's Blindly Play Super Robot Wars J: Part I

If you're feeling the Japan Love but aren't in the mood to watch hot anime dudes getting it on (I can't see why you wouldn't be, but Dahling, that' me) why not watch Chris play Super Robot Wars J. Bit of action, bit of fun, none of the feelings of frustration when you personally suck at the game! Also, if you've been thinking about trying the game, you can see whether or not you think it's really for you.

Just another service we provide here at KHEL 666 and Undead in the Netherworld.

Now, if someone could just make me stop sneezing, I'd be in business. I think I'm on my tenth in a row, and it's really starting to suck!

Rumbling Hearts Season 1

Rumbling-hearts--big--3

Hey Anime Fans! (I know there are a few among our group.) I just discovered this show called Rumbling Hearts. I know that probably some of you already knew about it but I haven't seen it before. I'm going to watch Season 1. Click here to join me!

No, I don't have popcorn, but I have a ham and cheese sandwich, a virgin Piña Colada smoothie, and a carrot cupcake for dessert.

Blood + Playlist and Tempest's Browser Issues and New Years Resolutions

Blood_wallpaper_01
I do enjoy my anime, Dahlings. Blood + is an innovative series which you may enjoy too. Please check out the full playlist of episodes.

I am having dreadful browser issues. I had been using Chrome for ages, but there was a persistent error message that would not be eradicated even when I re-downloaded the software. Also, Flash kept crashing.

You Tube videos won't play in Sea Monkey.

I can't paste pictures from my Flickr account into my Posterous blog using Opera.

Explorer doesn't spell check.

Ugh! Is there any browser that will do what I need without all the drama?

Happy New Year to all of you, by the way.

So far, I'm doing dandy on my pledge that some of my fellow team members and I took to eat less meat. I hadn't eaten chicken in over a week and I don't think I'll be doing so again. I had a bit today, and I must say, I was not impressed even though it was an organic meal.

No fears, Dahlings. We aren't the sort of people who will brow-beat you about your dietary choices. This is just something that we all decided to do after much reasearch into factory farming and the carbon footprint created by production of meat, particularly beef.

We do have an animal related page on Facebook that you can check out if you so wish!
