I Prayed About It: Dorothy Norwood, Bishop Bruce Partham and Joy Cooper

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: D is for DJ

Gone are the days when DJ automatically meant scratching records. The DJ role has gone high tech. For my money, this sounded like someone playing a keyboard.
Here's DJ McCoy doing it the old fashioned way.

Fatboy Slim shows off a different but equally enjoyable talent.

No matter how you cut it, the DJ is here to stay in the music scene.

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: Television Tropes: C is for Cop Show AKA Crime Drama

Cop shows/crime dramas are a staple of television viewing. Over the years, they have become more graphic and intense, and, in some cases, less realistic. I enjoy watching CSI, but no forensic examiner in her right mind would be wearing a low-cut blouse and have her hair down while examining a cadaver. Shows like CSI tend to be splashy and sexy and rely on CGI effects.
Shows such as True Detective have a grittier feel. True Detective is a Southern Gothic/Noir style series which ran from January 2014 to March 2014. A second season is pending. You can watch scenes from the show's first season, such as this one on You Tube. Unfortunately, the embedding has been disabled.

Soap Opera Stuff: Lovable Jason Morgan

Jason Morgan is a quintessential heroic character. He's been part of the General Hospital series since 1991. He's one of my favorites.

The Elder Scrolls: Total War Playthrough

The great thing about playthroughs is they give you an idea of whether or not you actually want to spend money on a game. This one looks like an interesting strategy game, with zombies to boot. Looks like something my nephew and I might enjoy together.

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: B is for Brawn

Watch as this burly fellow uses the "Clean and Press" technique to lift 160 pounds over his head.
Now, watch as DJ Cheesy tries to do the same and is compressed from 5'6" to 0'6" in height like an accordion!
It would look a little bit something like this before my spine folded.

I admire the folks with the strength to lift large amounts of weight. I could watch them all day!

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2014: A is for Acrobatics

Look at these people. Just look at them, doing things that if I did would end me up in the emergency room for sure.
I envy people who can do things like this. I am able-bodied at this juncture of my existence. I can walk, albeit sometimes painfully. I can groom myself and feed myself. I am capable of learning basic skills. However, I do not have a graceful or talented bone in my body, and I am anti-flexible.
In my next life I want to be acrobatic, athletic, and artistically talented so I can be amazing!
Oh yeah, and it would also be nice not to have a trifecta of mental illnesses.
