After Hours Fun in an Office Bulidling

Oh, to be young again and having fun like this! I think they're a lot more sober than I tended to be on a night out at their age.

Workers of the World: Surveyors

Ever wonder about that thingy you see surveyors using? I have. Today I found out that it's called a transit. This fellow explains how to set one up.
This page discusses the basic tools of a surveyor.
If you like working outdoors in a variety of locations, and you have a head for detail and enjoy math, surveying might be the profession for you.
Read more about surveyors on the Wikipedia page.

A to Z Blogging Challenge: O is for Orgasm

I'm pretty sure this is the first and only time you'll see something of this nature. These ladies challenged themselves to see if they could continue to sing while getting off. So...yeah.
So then other people decided this was a good idea.
I'm an open-minded guy. It seems like harmless fun.
I was actually looking for something by Adam Lambert when I came across this. I have a feeling he'd probably approve.

Here's the official video. It's pretty catchy.
Oh, those wild and crazy Dutch people!

Unfortunately at this time I don't know where you can get his music. Damn talented, I'd like more!

A to Z Blogging Challenge 2015: N is for Nerdgasm

If you follow Team Netherworld's blogs regularly, you might get the idea that we're a bunch of nerds.
Guess what--you're right!
We love science fiction and we love horror. We love classic horror comics. Seeing the sweet stack of cheesy comic goodness that this guy has is giving me a massive Nerdgasm!
My sis (DJ Aurora) and I always loved horror comics. Our father (R.I.P.) said he thought it was a waste of money, but I caught him sneaking a peek more than once! Our mother said that reading them would give us nightmares. Sometimes we did get pretty spooked, but it was worth it!
The guy in the video looks like he'd be a pretty cool fellow nerd to hang out with. Plus, he has an epic beard!
What gives you Nerdgasms?

Blink 182: Adam's Song

I love this song, and not just because my name's in the title. ;-)
I love that they bravely took on the topic of depression and suicide ideation.
I think that sometimes just having one's feelings acknowledged can make all the difference.
There's no shame in seeking help.
I struggled with depression and suicide ideation into my forties. The depression still comes on at times but I've learned to cope with it better and it seems to resolve more quickly. I don't take medications. I think learning good coping skills is key, but I would certainly never put down anyone who feels that they need medication. Taking medication in no way makes you a weak person.
One size does not fit all, each of us needs to find the way that works!

Love,
DJ Adam

Adam Lambert 2009 American Idol Performance: Mad World

Even Simon Cowell couldn't find anything negative to say about Adam's beautiful, heart-touching performance of this classic melancholy tune. I just had to find this and share it tonight.

Monday's Music: The Master of Viking Metal

Tomas "Ace" Börje Forsberg AKA Quorthon: 17 February 1966 – c. 7 June 2004

It's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since Quorthon was found dead at only 38 years old.
He didn't die from a drug overdose or "misadventure," as has been the sad case with many musicians. He had heart problems, likely cardiomyopathy. His heart simply stopped working. He was found dead in his apartment after no-one had heard from him for a week.
Quorthon is considered one of the creators of the Scandinavian black metal genre as well as being the father of the Viking metal genre. He initially utilized horror/dark/occult themes in his music but switched to writing songs about Scandinavian history, legend, and mythology.
Quorthon cautioned people not to allow themselves to become too wrapped up in the theatrical imagery of the metal genre. He expressed his feeling that it was necessary to remember that it was theatre, and that he personally kept in mind that he was just a regular person who enjoyed creating theatre.
Quorthon was distressed to receive letters written in blood and on occasion containing dead, mutilated animals or photographs of women engaging in obscene acts using crucifixes. He wanted to escape the image as "the baby-eating, blood-drinking God of the bat-cave". He expressed the feeling that it was sick and wrong to harm small animals in such a fashion, and that he really didn't care to see unsolicited photographs of people engaged in obscene acts.

Offstage, Quorthon was polite, soft-spoken, evidently very intelligent, and refreshingly lacking in stereotype "rock star" attitudes and behaviors.
I believe the older fellow in the video is his father, Börje "Boss" Forsberg. While Boss was owner of the Tyfon Grammafon label and produced Quorthon's early work with Bathory, Quorthon received no particular special favors. He worked under a very tight budget. In one case, he recalled creating a particular echoing effect by playing his guitar in the bathroom at the studio.

Following Quorthon's death, his sister, Jennie Tebler, wanted to remix certain of her brother's songs to create a duet between herself and him. However, she stated in one interview that she couldn't stop herself from crying when she heard his voice, so she ended up using only the guitar tracks. The person who created this video has envisioned what the remix might have sounded like had she been able to go through with the project.

The talented siblings created this song together not long before Quorthon's death. He played all of the instruments and mixed the track. It's a shame they couldn't have done more work together.

The world is a poorer place for the loss of Quorthon, a fine musician and a fine human being. But it is a richer place for the fact that he was here. May he rock Valhalla!

Aldon Smith Post Game Interview from October 2012

Just a little something I found to get my busy baby brother (DJ Adam) through the off season! Aldon Smith is his favorite current Q.B. We're hoping Little Aldy can get his personal shiz together during this coming year. He's so talented, it's a shame he keeps ending up in the dog house for poor decisions off the field.
I'm beginning to think I may have made a poor decision doing one of those 30 day 50,000 word writing competitions for the second month in a row. I sailed through JuNoWriMo without hitting too much rough water, but JulNoWriMo is proving to be a much more difficult journey.

A Trio of Dicks: Zombie Funtage

Two necessary points:
1) This is not politically correct
2) It is not to be taken seriously

If you like zombie games and South Park's brand of humor, you might enjoy wasting 20 minutes watching these guys shoot zombies, and make low-rent jokes.

I is for Industrial

This is a new find. I love it! Check it out, you might too.

The description comes from Wikipedia.

Industrial music is a style of experimental music that draws on transgressive and provocative themes. The term was coined in the mid-1970s with the founding of Industrial Records by the band Throbbing Gristle, and the creation of the slogan "industrial music for industrial people". In general, the style is harsh and challenging. Allmusic defines industrial as the "most abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music"; "initially a blend of avant-garde electronics experiments (tape music, musique concrète, white noise, synthesizers, sequencers, etc.) and punk provocation".

The following text is mine.

There are subgenres of industrial music, such as industrial rock, industrial metal, and industrial hip-hop. Favorite industrial bands of mine include Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, and Skinny Puppy.

To forestall any upset, in case anyone heard and believed these rumors, Skinny Puppy never included footage from a snuff film in any of their videos. The footage used was from a Japanese horror film series called Guinea Pig.

Enjoy the above music, and, if you're new to the Industrial sound, be sure to check out the bands mentioned above. You're sure to find hours of listening pleasure!

The Kraken is one of the fellows who appeared on Axe Men. I don't imagine there's too much that scares this guy.

Fed and Tended By Hordes of Subservient Robots

Sometimes being fed and tended by hordes of subservient robots doesn't sound half bad--especially if they bring this music with them! This is one of those happy finds. If you like electronica, you may well enjoy this. I don't know much about the creator of the music. I only know that I like what I hear!

Aldon Smith: Expect the Unexpected

Aldon Smith is one of my favorite contemporary NFL players for many reasons. He's consistently good, and he's a team player. I like his sense of humor and his understated style. Looking forward to more good things to come from Aldon in the future!

Aldon Smith Deserves to be in Top 10

A little good-natured banter here discussing the top players of 2013. Anyone who knows me knows that I like Aldon Smith. He's one of the best young players. He's got a little swagger here, but he isn't trash talking. I expect to see more great stuff from him in 2014.
