PSA: Respiratory Distress in Children

If your young child is having problems breathing, it is imperative that he or she is seen by a medical professional as soon as possible.

Adults experiencing respiratory distress can compensate for fairly long periods of time, depending on the severity of distress. 

Babies and children who have not yet reached puberty cannot compensate during respiratory distress as an adult can. Respiratory distress can very quickly decompensate to respiratory and cardiac arrest.
