Into the Night

I actually like this song a lot, and as it happens, Benny is not a creeper, although this video does little to dispel the idea that he is. I don't know what the video producers were thinking.

The story behind the song goes something like this:

Benny had a young neighbor whose parents were going through a divorce. She was having a tough time and he helped her out by paying her to do things like walk his dog or pick up his dry cleaning. She was sixteen, but was a very mature looking sixteen.

One day Benny's writing partner was over when the girl came to get the dog to take it for a walk. When she left, his writing partner said "wow, what a fox!"

Benny said, "hey, she's just sixteen years old, leave her alone." 

The writing partner liked that line and they took it from there.

I would not have featured Benny as the love interest in this video. I would have gotten a sixteenish year old boy to play the love interest and simply had Benny singing.
